48 Hours in Boston. A Travel guide for best things to do and places to visit in the city.
Welcome to our tour in Boston! We spend two days exploring the city and its beautiful places!
We started our tour by making our way to the city's North End and having lunch. After that, we headed to a craft beer tap room. Then, we explored Beacon Hill and the Boston Common. Our day ended with an excellent meal at Myers & Chang. The next day started with a run through the Public Gardens and the Charles River Esplanade. Finally, we finished off our time in Boston with brunch at Little Donkey and a walk around Cambridge.
Have Lunch in Boston’s North End and visit Quincy Market
We started our tour in the North End of the city. We also made it to Quincy Market which is a big tourist area where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. Honestly, our favorite method of transportation is walking. In this city, there are lots of different locations you can get to relatively quickly within 30 minutes or less. While walking you come across all these really fantastic public places like the Boston Common and the Public Gardens. After a little bit of walking, we arrived at the North End (basically the Italian area of Boston) to have lunch. First, we had a Peroni which is an Italian beer, and a white Sangria. Then, we ordered a delicious salad.
Try some Boston Craft Beer
Our next stop was trying to find a taproom. Boston and Massachusetts in general are known for offering great craft beer. Plus, we are craft beer lovers. So, we came to a place called The Tip Tap Room. We found so many options and beers on the menu we were excited to taste, which made it difficult to decide. At last, we went for a sour Kolsch from Pennsylvania. It was light and great this summertime. We also had lime pilsner which obviously was very limy and summary as well. The tap room was great.
Walk through Beacon Hill and Boston Common
We came to Beacon Hill, a really nice neighbourhood in Boston. It's got all these little narrow streets. There are not a lot of people around and there you will find really cool buildings. It is a great area to live in. It is the cutest neighborhood. It is super quiet, there is hardly any traffic and it is very pretty and old yet instagramable. Afterward, we came to the Boston Common, there is a small lake and some cool sites along the way. Fun fact for you, Nova Scotia (which is where we're from in Canada), sends a Christmas tree down to Boston every year for the Boston Common Christmas.
Have dinner in Boston’s trendy South End
We came back to the Revere Hotel where we’re staying. It is located in the middle of Boston. It is the perfect location to be in. You can walk anywhere within minutes. After a long day, we headed over to have dinner. We went to a place called Myers and Chang. It is like a really sought-after place in the city. We booked it a couple of days before. It is located in the South End which has some of the best restaurants in our city. We ordered a Chinese beer. The main dish was Dan Dan extra spicy noodles. It is a hard Chinese dish to come by. It was really incredible.
TaKe a walk along the Charles River to CamBridge
Our second day in Boston, we walked through beautiful gardens on our way to the Charles River. In this area, you can run four miles right up and down the whole river and around to the other side. The other side is in fact Cambridge. After a run, we went into Cambridge to a place called Little Donkey to have brunch. We got a torta (sandwich) which was massive and chilaquiles. The Brunch was absolutely delicious. If you were here on a Saturday or a Sunday, we recommend you visit here for a delicious brunch. Cambridge is a great place to spend the afternoon exploring.
Have you booked your hotel?
We stayed at the Revere Hotel which had the best location and we’d highly recommend it. We almost always book with Booking.com for the best rates. Check for availability and rates here:
